  1. An Oyster card is a quicker and more convenient way of using the Underground, but a bit more expensive.
  2. British people are reserved. Don’t be surprised if they pretend to be reading in order to avoid conversation.
  3. Queues are an everyday part of London life. Londoners don’t mind them.
  4. In a public conversation, say ‘Please’ and ‘Thank you’ as much as possible.
  5. When you hear a bell ring in the pub, it’s the start of ‘Happy Hour’.
  6. A lot of places don’t sound the way they are written.
  7. Try to get out of the city and into the green areas outside London.
  8. If you’re thinking of visiting London, stick to the tourist places.
