COMPARATIVES AND SUPERLATIVES: ANSWERS

BIG / SMALL
Russia is the BIGGEST country in the world. The Vatican is THE SMALLEST. Paris is BIGGER THAN Madrid, but it isn’t AS BIG AS London.

EASY / DIFFICULT
When I was at school I found History EASIER THAN Science. Art was THE EASIEST subject, and Maths was THE MOST DIFFICULT.

GOOD / BAD
I was the BEST / WORST in class at Art and History. I wasn’t AS GOOD / BAD AS David in Literature, but I was BETTER / WORSE than him in Geography. In Maths I was THE BEST / WORST in the whole school!

LITTLE / FEW
Of all my teachers, the LEAST favourite was the French teacher – he was always angry and shouting! That’s why FEWER students chose French to Spanish. The Spanish teacher gave LESS homework, too.

FAR / CHEAP
The FURTHEST I’ve driven was from the south of France to the north, when I was a student. I hired a car for one day! It was CHEAPER than the other options, although it wasn’t AS CHEAP AS I wanted! I’ve travelled FURTHER than that, but not driving.

LAZY / FAT
I’m quite lazy, but not AS LAZY AS my brother. He should be FATTER than he is, because he doesn’t do anything! My cousin Sam is even FATTER / LAZIER, though. In fact, he’s THE LAZIEST / FATTEST person I’ve ever met (and one of the LAZIEST / FATTEST, too)!
