You will hear a student called Josh Brady talking about visiting South Africa as part of his university course in botany. For questions 7– 14 (1-8), complete the sentences with a word or short phrase.

My advice:
Pay careful attention to phrases such as ‘not by….but….’, ‘…rather than….’, ‘we’d imagined…’, ‘..can often be….’, ‘which will stay with me forever’, ‘hardly impressive’, ‘by way of compensation…’ to help you decide whether what you have heard is the correct answer or a false clue.
