CAE Advanced Listening – Cycling

This is a sample Listening paper (part 4) from the Cambridge Advanced Certificate of English (CAE), level C1. You will hear five people talking about taking part in a long-distance cycling event.

Look at Task 1. For questions 21 – 25, choose from the list the reason each speaker gives for taking part in the event.

Look at Task 2. For questions 26 – 30, choose from the list what problem each speaker had with the event. While you listen, you must complete both tasks. You can write your ideas in the notebook below.

Listen twice, and when you finish press ‘START’ and answer the questions.
